lol the pin is like :T this is amazing, i dunno how i would react to looking up and seeing him there. i dunno if i'd be like "AHHH *runs away*" or "AHHH *takes off clothing*" :] weird... as i was typing this i could have sworn i saw a lightning flash in the picture O_O u did a great job making it /feel/ real. i love it
Wow.. GREAT work of art, here I'll have to look into your entire gallery, now.
Whatchyou talking about.. I LOVE his pose :]. Twas what I first noticed that had me fall in love with this.. & I love the falling rain as well .
I saw this movie 2 days ago, also.. I didn't know what to expect; I've never read the comics. But I thought the directing was BRILLIANTLY & beautifully well done :]. I fell hard for the character Rorschach.. Was infuriated to see him go, though :[.
I'm gonna definitely have to get ahold of those comics somehow.. They sound amazing From what I'm reading in all the "artist's comments".
xD What? So you didn't like the film all that much?
Well actually.. I musta been in a overly good mood at the time of me writing my first one xD. To be honest, I'll say; I only REALLY enjoyed about the first hour 1/2 o.O. After somewhere around that point it just started weirding me out xP. But I think it jus means I need to read the series to appreciate .
I think the movie was great, it's just too bad you can't fit all that detail into 3 hours. Sure, some things were changed, such as merging of scenes and....I won't spoil it but I feel the director kept very true to the novel...unlike others that ruin potentially good stories with Hollywood remake crap.
Rorschach looks great and the rain falling unto him!
I think Snyder did a pretty good job. I just didn't feel the anxiety of Armageddon build up on the film which I think is what the graphic novel was about. I also didn't feel attached to the characters in the film as I did on the graphic novel... Their backstory seemed rushed in the film.
I'm looking forward the D-cut. I'm sure it'll bring the movie closer to the original material.
They're gonna include the pirate stuff in the D's cut... I think.
It would've been a really memorable scene if they included the squid. Although I honestly think that the whole squid thing at the end of the graphic novel came out a bit forced for me and I never really liked the idea that much.
Yeah same sentiments here as well, a lot of things got lost in the transition from GN to film. There were some parts in scenes I felt weren't really necessary (300 reference? plus the fight scene in the prison.) I also think the movie didn't fully capture the atmosphere of the comic. It just didn't feel too 80's-ish for me.
Absolutely loved the opening montage and Rorschach's scenes though.
Yep, the opening was pretty cool. I didn't dig the 80's soundtrack they were throwing in the scenes to say the least. It just didn't fit in with Snyder's visual style for me. I wish they had kept the music orchestral.
I totally agree with you, the movie definitely didn't capture that feeling you get with the comic. I actually just read it before I saw the movie and I was so sucked into the story when I got to Rorschach's chapter, it was hard to put it down after that.
I DID think they took out a lot of that "imminent doom" feeling but personally I think they made the right decisions on what to take out most of the time. They just couldn't fit it all into a three hour run-time. Some of it might get into the directors-cut though.
back on topic though, this is an amazing picture of Rorschach. and I love the angle.
It just can't be put into one film I think. The emotions that built up in the graphic novel just can't be forced into just 1 whole movie. I think Snyder did a good job in creating a movie, It's just not THE Watchmen movie a lot of us fans were looking for.
