My entry for the Steampunk challenge over at Cgtalk that didn't make the deadline. Was busy with something else at the time.

Perseus drops onto the sacrificial platform to save the chained Andromeda from the wrath of the Kraken. Instead of arriving on Pegasus, I made him wear this steam-powered heli-pack. That canister-like red thing that he's holding up is suppose to resemble Medusa's head. Hell I dunno, I just tried to make everything look steampunk.

CnC welcome.

perseus faces the kraken by *ahbeejieh is an epic work! The compostion, the movement, the painting skills of the artist and of course the ammount of details contribute to it. That is a work that can leave you speechless and staring. It's wonderful that while painting such a dynamic scene the artist haven't forgotten about the details. It may take you some time to notice all the little things ( Suggested by ~Cocodrillo and Featured by `archanN )

I love steampunk! Its one of my favourite genres. This take on the ancient Greek myth is pretty cool too. The only thing I dont like about the picture is that there is too much going on. Its too busy. Maybe if it didnt have so many tentacles...
Colours are great, and I like the use of the motion blurring, especially how the artist got the water spray to look like its going in different directions. Couldnt have been easy.

Im not sure what "impact" and "vision" represent so I gave them five as well. Better safe than sorry I guess.

I ran out of stuff to say...
What do you think?

An image is wonderful when it tell a story and when the watcher can feel it.

When I look your image, I heard the thunder, the wave's sound and the wather's drops when they hit the stone and the machine. I heard the mechanism and monsters's countless clockwork and the voices of the characters who try to speak more... "extremely"(?) than all this noise.

Your image is wonderful. ;)

ps: sorry, my english isn't wonderful

Damn! Loving how you can tell that they might get ripped to shreds by the movements of the Krakens 'tentacles'! The colors are awesome too! :worship:

Shame that you didn't make it... :(

Oh wow! This is amazing in even the smallest details! The perspective is awesome, I really feel like I'm there. The water affect also makes me want to run for cover :XD:
